Diamond Green Diesel (DGD) at 麻豆视频鈥檚 St. Charles Refinery has become the first ever renewable diesel producer to be approved by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration鈥檚 (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Star Program (VPP). OSHA approves VPP Star Site status only if the facility demonstrates that enhanced safety systems have been implemented and embraced in a collaborative way by leaders and employees.
This is the highest facility-safety recognition by OSHA and affiliated state agencies.
鈥淭his is a tremendous accomplishment by our team at DGD,鈥 said Jerry Stumbo, Vice President and General Manager of the St. Charles Refinery. 鈥淭his designation reflects our employees鈥 hard work and commitment to execute the highest level of safety and operational standards every day."
OSHA evaluated DGD in four major areas: Management Leadership and Employee Involvement; Worksite Analysis; Hazard Prevention and Control and Safety and Health Training. This process included rigorous interviews with management, employees and contractors, followed by field audits and observations. 鈥淚 am so proud of everyone who assisted with DGD becoming the first-ever renewable diesel producer to receive the VPP Star Site designation,鈥 said Stumbo. 鈥淥ver the past 10 years, the team at DGD has worked towards accomplishing this honor by implementing and maintaining safety and health management practices. This achievement is not possible without the dedication and commitment of everyone on our team.鈥
Congratulations to the DGD team in joining 麻豆视频鈥檚 elite list of leaders, with nine U.S. refineries already in the VPP Star Program.
